oh sweet joy. this wedding just leaves us speechless, seriously. the emotion that snap grin photography captured from becca + javier’s day is so stunning, no words seem quite right… this is what weddings are all about: pure joy, happiness, and most of all love. their venue was to die for, hello semple mansion… not to mention that dress, wow, we are still swooning.

Mine and Javier’s wedding day was perfect! Family, friends and even the groom flew in from all over the world for the occasion! The ceremony reflected who we are entirely as two dear friends married us in a bilingual/bicultural ceremony with our faith in God at the center. Close and amazingly talented friends performed the music during the ceremony and thankfully my beauty team was fantastic as the waterproof makeup held up through my tears! Heidi Govednik on hair and Sarah Pagh on makeup were fabulous as they did nearly the whole wedding party’s style that day! The party really began when the mariachi band (Mariachi Mi Tierra) arrived at the reception and Javier sang me the song he had sung when he proposed in Mexico. We adored the Semple mansion, the staff was amazing and having the ceremony and reception in the same location was ideal. Russell’s catering was top notch; people still comment on how delicious the food was! We brought in our own variety of favorite cakes from Cafe Latte which cut on costs and was a huge hit. Snap.Grin Photography was fabulous, from the engagement photos to the day of the wedding they were very attentive and a lot of fun, making us comfortable and thoroughly enjoy the whole thing…not to mention leave us with amazing photos of the day! Beautiful Day DJ’s was exactly what we had hoped for, just the right amount of talking and crowd appeal for a fun and lively dance. We cut costs on buying flowers wholesale and arranging them ourselves as well as designing and making our own wedding invitations. The most treasured part of the wedding details for me was the custom designed and made wedding dress Cruz Ahumada, my mother-in-law made. Every detail labored over in love and truly made to perfection. To top it off, she also designed and made the bridesmaid dresses as well as her own! It was the perfect wedding celebration and send off for us before moving to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (with another civil ceremony on the beach!) and now to our new life in Switzerland. In Spanish Javier and I say that we did not take a ‘luna de miel,’ honeymoon, but rather a ‘vida de miel’…a life adventure that just keeps on going!
