magical. whimsical. spring.

we’re completely speechless.

… and that’s exactly how you’re going to feel after allowing your eyes to be dazzled with the gorgeousness below. Emily Steffen Photography and Simply Fabulous Events and Design did it again. they created an out-of-this-world whimsical, spring wedding shoot that is dripping with divine details. actually, it’s drenched. and your jaw is going to drop after taking one look at the unbelievable real flower headband that Ashley Fox Designs helped create. we’re probably going to ask her to create one for us to wear. every day. because it’s simply that incredible. the whole shoot is luscious, bright, and full of spring wedding goodness. as soon as we are able to talk again, we’re going to thank this stellar team of creatives for sharing this breathtaking ‘event’ with us. we’ve never been more enamored with the magnificent beauty that spring can hold.

inspiration love from Lisa at Simply Fabulous:

The inspiration for this shoot started with a blurred photo of a floral headband.  Forever a fan of things eclectic, romantic, and a bit bohemian, the goal throughout this shoot was to create an entire vision that was attainable to any Bride who has that same passion.

The best way to create this vision was to put a heavy emphasis on florals and Ashley Fox of Ashley Fox Designs was the perfect florist to bring the vision to life! We started the creation with a distressed coat rack found at a local flea market and suspended it with burlap ribbon. Upon this rack, Ashley layered nicholii eucalyptus, foxtail greens and leptospermum and finished the dreamy vision by hanging bunches of waxflower to lounge above the table.  We then accented the rack with yards upon yards of different textures of gold ribbon.

The table was truly a scaled vision of enchantment.   Chillean fern, sword fern, and leptospermum was blanketed along the ivory ruched linen.  Movie Star and Coral Tea roses, Darcy garden roses, Queen Anne’s Lace, Heather, Lilac, small bouquets of wax flowers, and taper candles were tucked throughout the ‘river’ of greens as well as accented in gold goblets, vases, and cups.  Vintage dinnerware with incredible gold detail, mismatched saucers, and well- storied flatware at each place setting completed the magical table, along with gold chivari chairs entwined with jasmine vines.

The beautiful stationery collection was created on soft white cotton paper by Nathalie Carrigan of 120 Water Street.  Accented with deep pink floral motifs and Kelly green scrolls, the stationery allowed the most formal feel of romance to the entire shoot.

The bridal bouquet was a fresh, vibrant mixture of Movie Star coral roses, Darcy garden roses, Coral tea roses, Lysianthus, Fritillaria, Anemones, Ranunculus, Pink Leptospernum, Nicholii Eucalyptus (touched with gold accent), Nerine Lily, Viburnum, Lilac, and Queen Anne’s Lace wrapped in gold wire cloth and an antique gold necklace.

The Bride. Oh my goodness, the Bride.

Based on the beauty of a floral headband {I mean, what else screams spring enchantment besides a floral headband filled with beautiful roses?}, we brought in the perfect soft blush coloured dress in a whimsical chiffon material. The Brides hair was styled in a disheveled chignon and paired with nude, ethereal makeup to really focus on the beauty of the Bride’s beautiful eyes and lips.  The look was complete soft, bohemian bridal fairy…

The Groom donned a classic black suit, paired with a charcoal dress shirt and black skinny tie.  We created a boutonnière of nerine, leptospernum, and jasmine vine wrapped with gold wire cloth to compliment his entire look.
