We adore this fun and sweet Stillwater, Minnesota historic courthouse wedding from Jody Savage Photography. The beautiful setting the courthouse offered and the muted but clean color palette made their love shine in the most beautiful of ways. Their wedding day readings were from the Velveteen Rabbit and spoke about how when you are really worn out that mean’s you are truly loved. We couldn’t agree more, love is such a beautiful thing! We adore the overflowing floral arrangements, the pop of color against the clean white linens, and the beautiful love shared between these newlyweds! We also should mention that we think every groom should wear a bow tie Jeff’s wedding day attire is perfection! Congrats Elizabeth and Jeff, we wish you a million years of happiness and joy.
Jessie and Steve not only had a beautiful wedding, they had a blast celebrating with family, friends, and Matt Haas Photography! They knew they wanted it to be a great weekend–simply a fun celebration for their friends and family who were coming to Chicago, the city they love and where they met. They wanted to give their guests a taste of their life in Chicago. Cafe Brauer was the first and only venue they toured. The opportunity to share their neighborhood and a piece of Chicago history–showcasing both the architecture and greenspace of our city was an opportunity they couldn’t pass up. They knew it would be a great space, no matter the weather. (And good thing they did, as their Sunday was one of the wettest that they saw in September.) Jessie said, “I never really believed that your wedding could be one of the best nights of your life. But when everyone you love in one room, getting to know each other, and having a great time, it really is true.”

What a blast these two had running around the Windy City with Buena Lane Photography! They started bright and early at the Bean in Millennium Park, beating the crowds and catching that gorgeous morning light coming off the lake. From the beach to Lincoln Park, they ventured through the city capturing images to celebrate their engagement. They made sure to get a few shots with the Hancock Tower in the background – a special site for the couple, especially after Ed’s proposal at the top!
We’ve found that brides are often intimidated by winter weddings. Sure, the soft snowfall can be beautiful, but that’s not always the picture of an Iowa winter day. More likely, you’ll find harsh winds with blinding snow or bleak skies, mushy street snow, and grey landscapes. Expressions Photography and Ember Grove Photography wanted to team up with other vendors and show brides that despite the gloomy weather, they can still plan a gorgeous, bright, fresh wedding. Through colorful and organic details, overflowing florals, and unique accessories, we collaborated for a styled shoot that brought a little more lovely into the winter months. We shared our vision with local vendors, centering around a presence of corals and kelly greens, an array of bright colors, and the combination of industrial context with very delicate details.

Shayne & Ryan’s rustic wedding-in-the-woods still had every touch of north woods elegance, from the tulle & taxidermy décor, to the friendly deer wandering outside the reception venue. When Bailey Aro Photography sent us this wedding, we were incredibly smitten. Owned and run by Ryan’s family, Boyd’s Mason Lake Resort served as the perfect gathering place for Shayne & Ryan’s big day. In true Wisconsin form, a foot of snow fell two days prior to their early May wedding. These northern love birds didn’t let this ruffle their feathers – nothing a pair of Wellie boots & a few extra snuggles couldn’t fix!

Just a few years ago Amenson Studio was photographing AJ’s senior portraits, in that time he met Shannon at college and fell in love! Their fun, adventurous, daring, and kind spirits show through in all they do. We are so happy they’ve found their one, true love and are taking the plunge! Climbing the tower at Reforstation Camp, running down the trails, playing pretend baseball, walking by the overflowing river and topping it all of by a surprise jump into the pond!

We hope you are out enjoying the beautiful July weather with family and friends! Summer is flying on by so we pray that a little time out on the lake or spent with loved ones is penciled into your calendar for the day! Celebrating Independence Day is something we love to do, so we are doing just that. Take time to soak in the moment, enjoy the fireworks, and bask in the summer heat.
HAPPY 4th OF JULY!
We’ll be back at it tomorrow!

The talented team at Waterford Crystal reached out to us and we were immediately smitten with their products. Looking through their gorgeous line of crystal we found ourselves “oohing” and “ahhing” over the beauty of each and every single piece they have to offer. As a bride, it is hard to know what exactly you should register for when you are getting married. You start with household items, throw in a few towels and call it good… right? Wrong, crystal should find a place on your list. We promise you won’t be disappointed to receive these gorgeous pieces, they belong in your home. This isn’t your mothers crystal – not in the least.
As I carefully unwrapped this gorgeous Monique Lhuillier vase, I found myself wishing I were a bride again so that I could add a few more pieces of delicate crystal to my registry. Waterford Crystal designs, manufactures and markets an extensive range of crystal stemware, barware and giftware for distribution throughout the world. In recent years, Waterford has built upon its reputation as a leading source of prestigious tabletop and gift products. When this little gem arrived on my doorstep, I fell in love and wanted (no, needed) the entire Monique Lhuillier collection.
Our readers already know we are over the moon for Monique’s dresses but Waterford extends her romantic line into the world of crystal. The Monique Lhuillier Waterford collection unites two iconic brands in a synergistic symphony of excellence – combining Waterford’s quality, craftsmanship and luxury cachet for the home and table, with Monique Lhuillier’s feminine, modern designs. The result is a collection offering glamorous and exciting ways to decorate your table, accessorize your home and bring sophisticated style to your celebrations.
Monique Lhuillier Waterford embraces the elegant aesthetic for which Monique Lhuillier is famous for throughout the fashion world. Every time you dine with this collection you will be reminded of the sentiment and bliss of your perfect day. Our favorite? The Sunday Rose line that is perfectly elegant and whimsically romantic. Seriously brides, get out there and register for some of this. When your cupboards are filled with this crystal, you will be so thankful you did.

This elegant mid-sized wedding with Jennifer and Geoffrey took place at a gorgeous Michigan wedding chapel and a reception location that will make you swoon. From the fall colors to the gorgeous florals, each aspect of their day was filled with beautiful Midwest colors. We think the little chapel that they said “I do” in is absolutely divine. Who wouldn’t want a sweet and romantic space to gather your friends and family as you commit your lives to one another. Paul Retherford Photography captured their moments throughout the day. Oh, what a lovely day it was.
