Beautiful Woodsy Engagement Session at Overlook Park
A stunning sunset woodsy engagement session is filled with so much love. You can just see it on the couple’s face in every photo! LOVE their story below, take the moment to read it, so cute!
The couple’s story is told by their photographer!
Michaela and Kyle are such a sweet couple, so very much in love and totally giddy about each other! Their session was fun and relaxed. They are both naturals in front of the camera and have some of the brightest smiles I’ve seen. We had a really great time walking around the park. Overlook Park is known for its gorgeous fields, walking trails, ponds, and bountiful nature. In the heart of Lancaster County, Pa, there is so much nature to be seen. And is the perfect setting for couples in love!
We had a great time checking out the fields and trails, getting fun shots, and serious shots. You can see the photos where Kyle picked Michaela up over his shoulder. That began as a serious shot, complete with the foot “pop” and they kiss. But she ended up over his shoulder laughing and having a great time. Towards the end of the session, you can see it started to drizzle just a bit (red dress in the field) That didn’t matter to them. It actually added to the romantic look of some of the portraits.
How did they meet?
Kyle and I met when we had the same Business Operations Class. As a part of the class, we had to participate in the same discussion group where we were the only ones in the entire class that would participate in the discussion. Other than the class, we did not talk much. However, we found ourselves at the same Philadelphia Eagles Game and connected there! He later asked me on a date (which was 5 hours long!!!) and he asked me out shortly later with a note while walking in the park. (They are both huge Eagles fans –and anything to do with other Philly sports teams)
Kyle and I love to take walks together. We do our best thinking/talking when walking and we also have a lab named Shadow that also doesn’t mind the walks 🙂 In February, Kyle told me that our friends wanted to have lunch in downtown Lititz. I did not think much of it since these are good friends of ours (they are husband and wife and they are actually both in our wedding party now!).
Kyle desperately wanted to go on this walk in Lititz Spring Park but I was not too crazy about the idea because I needed to file my taxes that day (lol). We were walking and Kyle said, “Do you want to bring our kids to this park one day?” and I responded with “yes, of course” and did not think much of the question because we enjoy talking about our future we wanted to build together.
Then he said “Do you want to grow old together?” and I said, “yes, of course.”
Still not catching on to what was about to happen. Finally, he reached for my arm and got down on one knee! Neither of us remembers what was said next but the most important thing was I said yes haha! Kyle had a photographer hiding to capture it all and our friends popped out of nowhere with big smiles on their faces. Later, we went home where Kyle surprised me with a party of all my friends and family.
