The couple’s story:

Our love story started on a cold December day in the small town of Bel Air Maryland. On Sunday, December 20th, 2015 We went to Looenys Pub with mutual friends to watch the Ravens football game. While at Looneys Tony ordered their famous chicken tacos, he was kind enough to share one with me. While we enjoyed the tacos we got to know each other and really felt a connection. I do recall saying to him “I think we just became best friends!” We have been inseparable ever since and always joke about how it all started with a taco.

The proposal story:

Almost, a year and a half later Tony popped the big question. On April 11, 2017, we flew out to Montego Bay, Jamaica for a destination wedding. When we arrived at the Sandals resort we took a tour of the grounds. There was a beautiful tree that made an arch over a pathway that had lovely pink flowers all over it. While under that tree Tony got down on one knee and proposed and of course I said yes!. He wanted to make sure he proposed in the most beautiful place that I have ever been to. Little did I know, he had already contacted my father and stepfather to get their blessing for the engagement. I had no idea he was going to propose and the whole way there he keep the ring hidden.

How did they decide where to elope?

When choosing the wedding destination I was looking for a rustic barn style venue. I grew up in the town of Darlington, Maryland and wanted to choose a location in that area, I came across Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow and knew that was the place. I really wanted to get married in my home town and was happy to find a venue that offered everything I envisioned.

Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow was a rustic barn style venue that had structures dating back to the mid-1700s. It used to be a 156-acre farm owned by a doctor. In the early 1900s, a family purchased the farm from the doctor and in 2014 the family rebuilds the barn on one of the area’s oldest stone foundations. I loved the country setting as I wanted a fall wedding, I planned for the day to peak season fall foliage. I choose the date for November 3rd, 2018 and that day did not disappoint! On the day of our wedding, it was sunny blue skies and a high of 63, an absolutely gorgeous day with lots of fall vibes.

After, picking the wedding venue we had to plan the rest of the day.

I planned everything from the caterer, to the table cloths, flowers, cake and so much more. I decided to have a lot of local friends who owned their own businesses to be a part of our day. We wanted traditional Maryland BBQ food and choose Mission BBQ for our caterer. The food was delicious and we had many compliments on our food choice. The cake was done by a friend who owns Cake Mama and was amazing. We had many different pies from a local farm called Wilson Farm Market. Our floral arrangements were designed from a local high school floral department and they did a wonderful job. We also purchased giant mums from Wilson’s Farm Market to be placed around the head table and the wedding arch. Our Dj was Big Bob Dj and we found him through a friend, he had our dance floor jumping all night!

Biggest planning frustration?

We did have a few complications on our day but we made the best of them. We wanted warm apple cider and the 5-gallon electric urn did not work so we had cold cider. My stepfather built a beautiful wedding arch and it was huge! Transporting the wedding arch seems to be a bit complicated but we did get it to the venue. We had to take it apart and have a few extra hands to help transfer from my parent’s house to the venue. Our Dj had a mic malfunction during the ceremony but quickly fixed it.

How was the dress chosen?

Picking out my dress was very fun. I googled many images and knew what I had in mind when I went to K&B Bridal. My bridesmaids and mother met me at the boutique located in Bel Air, Maryland. My bridal party was very encouraging but I did not find the dress that first day. I went back a few weeks later and they had a new shipment of dresses and had exactly what I envisioned. Wanting a simple gown with a little pop of gems and a long train. I was very satisfied with my purchase and couldn’t wait for the big day. My bridesmaids purchased their gowns there. I wanted them to have the same color but find a design that fit their personalities. My husband and his groomsmen purchased their tux from K&B and they all looked fabulous.

How did you choose your photographer?

Picking our photographer was very important to me. I had an image in my head of how I wanted my photos and did a lot of research on my vision. Our photographer was a friend I met years ago and I followed her Instagram photography page. I loved her style in photography and reached out to her. I was very thrilled that she had that day open to do our wedding. On the day of our wedding, she and her husband both were outshooting the big day making sure to capture every moment. She arrived with the bride and bridesmaid to do the before ceremony photos and her husband went to capture the groom and groomsmen.

During the ceremony, she caught so many shots that I am so grateful to have. She went out of her way to capture everything and to make our day special. When we got the photos back I loved so many of them and choosing just a couple was impossible. She did such an amazing job at capturing our day and I couldn’t be more satisfied with having her be a part of our day. From before wedding to ceremony and the craziness of our friends and family enjoying our day she really captures some great moments.

I could go on and on about our wedding story.

There were so many fun moments and it turned out just perfect. My favorite moment is all my friends and family getting down on the dance floor. The drinks were flowing and everyone enjoyed their time. To seeing my husband and that first look and in the end with cake cutting or should I say cake smash.
