Snowy Hiking Elopement in Buena Vista Colorado with Two Huskies!

Want to hike on your wedding day!? Bring your dogs along! DO IT! These two did and it was AMAZING! I don’t know who was more excited about it all, the couple or the dogs! This adventure-filled Colorado snowy elopement has it all, mountain views, adorable dogs, and a madly in love couple! Also, a photographer who is up for rad adventures!

This couple didn’t let COVID win the battle, they created a day that was filled with adventure, their fur family and got married don their terms! This is why the hashtag #LoveIsNotCancelled started!

Their 2019 proposal (quote from Liz):

Last year, we were on a trip to the UK and London. We woke up early, had breakfast, went to the British Museum in London, and LITERALLY SAW CLEOPATRA (it was so freaking cool). Then we went to Abbey Road Studios and got to GO INSIDE where the Beatles recorded the bulk of their music. (Loren proposed to me there on the front steps – it was MAGICAL!!!!) AND THEN we saw As You Like It right inside Shakespeare’s Globe Theater. The whole night was capped off with beers at a pub. It was incredible and seriously the greatest day of my (Liz’s) entire life. I don’t know if it was the greatest day of Loren’s life, packing a ring all around London in his pocket most of the day.

How They Met:

Liz: we very initially met through an app. Our first date was at Blackbird Pub in Wash Park – he ordered a terrrrrrible pizza but he was cute so I forgave him. (And it didn’t have pineapple on it. He was safe.) I liked him from the outset because he is such a strong communicator. He’s great at really being 100% himself no matter what, and I value that level of genuineness so much.

Loren: Initially struck conversation via OkCupid dating app but our first date was at Blackbird in Wash Park. She had the largest brown eyes and I swear I never saw her blink once. They always seemed engaged, interested, and attentive. Either that or she was offended by pizza choice. I’m glad I didn’t get my usual Hawaiian style, otherwise she may have never talked to me again. I confidently walked away believing that she was just naturally altruistic and interested.

What was their favorite memory for their day?

Quote from Liz in a thank you email: I cannot thank you enough for how beautifully you captured our day. I know almost nothing went according to plan, and weirdly that’s what I loved most about it. It was such a great reminder that it doesn’t matter what is happening, what mattered most was that we could laugh and smile through it together.

What was their biggest frustration planning their wedding day?

COVID-19.

The uncertainty of Airbnbs opening (luckily, they were permitted to be open June 1st… on their wedding day)

Unknowing of what vendors would be open, specifically florists.

Their experience with you?

Their Thank You email:

I’m sorry this took so long, every time I sat down to write I would do about 3 words and start crying and then need to reset.

I cannot thank you enough for how beautifully you captured our day. I know almost nothing went according to plan, and weirdly that’s what I loved most about it. It was such a great reminder that it doesn’t matter what is happening, what mattered most was that we could laugh and smile through it together. Your suggestions and guidance and capturing of all of it gave us the exact day we wanted and needed. Thank you thank you thank you for what you do in empowering people to be themselves because that is so important for every day of a person’s life.

Don’t worry, it may take time but you’ll be getting the most incredible review from us on any platform you need. I’ll paint a sign and hang it out our window if you want lol.

What was the wish list that the couple wanted for their Colorado snowy elopement?

Quote from the questionnaire: That it be about us & the doggos. Having a special day without having to worry about everything else going on around us. I love the idea that it’s just us exploring a new spot – we just happen to be dressed up fancy.

Liz’s best friend (Tyler) married them! She brought along her husband (Wyatt). They are all great friends which made for a fun and relaxing evening altogether.

How did the couple decide on their wedding location?

Had everything they wanted. Mountains, Trails, Foliage, Snowcaps, and lakes. They had also never been there before! Plus, it was dog friendly. 🙂

Tell us about the bride and her gorgeous dress! And their adorable pups names!

She was SO EXCITED to get her dress dirty. Loved the idea of her dress turning ombre from dirt.

It was a pink dress from David’s Bridal

Dogs: Both huskies! Cody (white and black) & Sasha (all-white one)

Were there any special/ unique requests from the couple?

LOTS of dog photos. 🙂

What were your (the photographers) favorite moments from this couple’s wedding? What stood out the most?

At the end of the day, after grilling dinner, Liz & Loren dipped their feet in their private hot spring and Liz played a love song on the guitar for Loren.

Their huskies LOSING IT when they saw snow— just jumping and prancing around in it, happy as can be.

Nothing going according to plan, but their flexibility to roll with it anyway. They were SO laid back, and just wanted to be married however it happened.

Them bargaining vows in the middle of it —- Liz wanted to be able to not be truthful if she had a surprise in store for him. 🙂

Yelling to the mountains WOOO!! after their vow exchange

Bonding over true crime with Liz & Tyler while the boys grilled

Give us as much information as possible & we cannot wait to get this on the blog!

The couple lives in Denver, and they *LOVE* traveling, hiking, and camping.
