Hiking Engagement Session with Dog
This adventure hiking engagement session has love, an adorable pup, and adventure! A big misconception with adventure sessions is that you must hike mountains to get to beautiful locations! This session shows you that you don’t have to at all! This beautiful river is just off the road! AND it’s pet-friendly! Even better!

How did they meet?
We had a secret childhood relationship that involved sneaking out of our parent’s house, nighttime walks to look at the stars in our country town, leaving love letters under rocks, and good ole AIM messenger. With changing friend groups and different interests, we remained as cordial as high schoolers can be and went our separate ways at 16 years old.
Going to colleges across the street from each other gave us a few times a year to see each other at parties and at mutual friends’ houses. We always had a deep connection and finally made it happen at 23 years old when we ran into each other at a bar on St. Patty’s day. For the past 6 years, we haven’t spent any time apart.
Their proposal story?
It was a Friday night just before the first snowstorm this year and we were walking in the Trail of 100 Giants in Sequoia National Park with only 4 of us in the whole park (myself, Tristan, my best friend, and sister). We were taking pictures in front of a Sequoia tree that had a heart burned into it from a controlled burn, and Tristan asked my friend to “take one more picture” when he dropped to one knee.
What they love most about each other
Tristan is the most patient and caring person I know. I am a lot more high-strung than he is, and he always keeps me grounded (and is such a good listener).
Brooke’s passion for life and adventure inspires me to be the person that I want to be. Her energy is as contagious as her laugh and brings so much joy to my life.
The biggest challenge of planning their day so far?
How to keep it intimate and share it with those who love us. Our love is so strong and runs so deep in our history as a couple; it’s a balance between wanting us to keep it to ourselves and sharing it with our families and friends. We are also not traditional and it’s challenging to fight the common stereotypes
Favorite memory from the session?
I had a moment where I could have cried because Angie told us to just be as if she wasn’t there. It was perfect weather and we love watching Archer be in the water. For a moment I could feel all of our love we have for each other swell up inside of me.
