Laid Back Cabin Wedding in the woods Ending with Fireworks
This incredibly laid back wedding set in the woods, where they stayed in a rustic cabin and got married lakeside! Their ceremony was on the docks with a canoe as a backdrop. They started the day with a dip in the lake and a basketball game! I am head over heels for this laid back cabin wedding!
What were your favorite moments from this couple’s wedding?
Oh man, it is honestly so hard to choose some favorite moments from this beautiful wedding. The entire day was probably one of my favorites! Everything was just so relaxed the entire day it truly felt like a weekend at the cottage.
Some of the highlights that I really loved was:
Matt, his side entered into the ceremony in a war canoe. Which really made a statement and got the crowd really pumped up. This was probably the first wedding I had ever had anyone cheer for the arrival of the wedding party.
Matt and their entire wedding party were definitely not the kinds of people that wanted your traditional posed wedding party photos. Instead they really just wanted to have fun around the camp. They choose to play a game of basketball. Have some fun climbing the swim tower. All while listening to an awesome playlist that had everyone dancing and in an amazing mood all day long!
The wedding party entrances were hands down the best I had ever seen!
Even the parents of both sides came in with so much energy. Doing chest bumps, playing basketball, dancing, cheering. Just really doing an amazing job of pumping up the guests. Jackie and Matt came into the mess hall to the loudest group cheering. Having one heck of a time with the biggest smiles on their face.
Jackie and Matt opted to go with a live band. It truly added so much fun to the dancing portion of the reception. Matt decided later on in the evening to join the band for a song. Singing to all the guests and it got everyone on the dance floor singing right along with him!
My final favorite moment of the night was the fireworks. All the guests took a break from dancing to watch an incredible firework show. Jackie and Matt snuggled up with each other and watched as the fireworks went off over the lake. This is one of my favorite photos from the day as it was truly such a perfect candid moment that captures the love they had for each other and the incredible wedding day they had.
What advice would you give to future couples planning their wedding?
Everything will come together the day off and not stress about that. And delegate to others. If they offer to help, take them up on it!
What advice would you give other couples about the wedding day itself?
Enjoy the day, it goes by so fast so take some time to just take a breath and take a moment with only each other.
What stood out the most?
What stood out the most to me was there was zero stress at all during the day! Both Jackie and Matt set the tone with their laid back personalities set against the camp setting it really gave off a relaxed kind of vibe. When the timeline began to run behind neither of them was bothered by it because the most important thing to them was getting married to each other in front of all of their family and friends and there was zero rush to do so.
This resonated with me so much as so many wedding days get very stressful quickly when the timeline gets too packed and there hasn’t been enough room left for some flexibility. I feel this really comes when all of the wedding day events are all on the same property as well as all of the guests are already staying on the property this really gives some more flexibility to the day.
