A National Park Themed Fall Cabin Wedding in Leavenworth Washington
Washington State is full of amazing locations, outdoor lovers flock to explore. These two are no different! They took their love of the outdoors and the National Parks to a whole new level! Naming all their tables with different National Parks, instead of numbers. They found an amazing cabin in their woods to finish up the fall cabin wedding of their dreams!
Their proposal story, from the bride:
We love to travel in our camper van and had a trip planned for Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. On our stop in Grand Teton, Kirk had a surprise. He was very picky about what hike we did and when we were going to do it, which was odd. Seven miles into the hike we found a spot to picnic. After lunch, kirk wanted to take some pictures with his GoPro and tripod, which was also weird. On the last one, he said, “this is actually a video” and got down on one knee. Neither of us remembers what was said except, “yes!”
What was their favorite memory for their day?
From the bride, “We had stressed about rain all week and it had poured the night before and all morning. When it was time to take the first look photos we went outside and the sun had come out. It was so magical and beautiful, no one could believe it was sunny. Our first look photos felt like the sun was shining only on us.”
What was their biggest frustration planning their wedding day?
from the bride, “Our biggest frustration was probably the guest list and RSVPs. We had a small venue and family kept inviting people. Then we had to chase down a lot of people to get them to RSVP. People came who weren’t invited and people didn’t come who said they would. But, it all worked out just fine.”
Their experience with Tiffany Sukola Imagery?
from the bride, “Tiffany was fantastic to work with! She was so professional when we first talked on the phone and I loved her images. She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot and let us get creative. On our wedding day it felt like a friend was taking our photos. She worked so well with my family and our vendor team it was so much fun! We got our pictures back faster than expected and I love each and every one of them. I am amazed at how perfectly she captured our special day.”
What was the wish list that the couple wanted for their wedding day?
From Tiffany Sukola Imagery. “I knew Christian and Kirk spent a lot of time in the outdoors together and they wanted their images to highlight their venue’s gorgeous natural backdrop. Leavenworth is known for its stunning fall foliage and so they also wanted those colors to be in a lot of their images. ”
How did the couple decide on their wedding venue? Why was this the perfect reception spot?
from the bride, “I’ve always dreamed of getting married in an amphitheater which spoke to our love of camping and the outdoors. Kirk wanted something in the mountains and secluded. I googled “wedding in the woods” and this beautiful venue popped up in Leavenworth, which was perfectly between our hometown and current town. As a bonus, we could rent out the cabins and have a wedding weekend filled with lots of time with our friends and families.”
Tell us about that stunning gown!
from the bride, “I had a great time shopping for a wedding dress and I found a lot of beautiful dresses but they weren’t perfect. I wanted to alter them and add details that drove the price up over my budget. That’s when I found a website for customizing a wedding dress. Anomalie took pictures of my favorite dresses, walked me through the design process, and quoted me a price that gave me a “bridal moment” more than any dress had. Six months later I had my perfect dress and it was even more special to tell everyone at my wedding that had I designed it. I even inspired Kirk to get a custom suit!”
Special touches on their wedding day?
Chrystan and Kirk spend a lot of time camping and hiking in National Parks. They are on a mission to visit them all and always bring back a memento, like a shirt or a hoodie, when they cross one of their lists. So they asked their guests to make donations to the National Park Foundation in lieu of gifts!
What was Tiffany Sukola Imagery’s favorite moments from this couple’s wedding?
I really loved their venue’s ceremony amphitheater, which was surrounded by all these tall trees. Chrystan looked so stunning walking down that path to Kirk. The way he looked at her as she made her way to him was just such a sweet moment.
I also really love how Chrystan and Kirk incorporated their love for the National Parks in their wedding! Each table was named after one of the parks! They even requested donations to the National Park Foundation in lieu of gifts, which shows how much they want the parks to be around for others to enjoy for years to come.
