Meet: Megan of MaeMae Paperie a stationery and paper goods company in Minnesota
Something that makes A Northwoods Wedding super special is that fact that we focus on featuring local Midwest artists, the kind than any Midwest bride could have access to and work with on their wedding day. I am constantly amazed by the talent in the Midwest and am blown away by young creatives who are taking the wedding industry by storm. I spied Megan, of MaeMae Paperie, a long long time ago and was immediately drawn to her use of clean typography, lovely designs, and bold color use. This lady recently moved from LA to Minnesota and now calls the land of 10,000 lakes, home. She is ridiculously talented, kind, and nothing short of amazing. Check out our interview with this local creative and leave her some love!

Why you love your job: I love that there are so many layers to people’s stories, even the little things like the original wallpaper in the ballroom where a bride and groom are having their reception. Bringing that idea as inspiration into the wedding collection is so exciting; even though it is no longer there and the design I create is not an exact copy it evokes the story that the bride and groom first came to me with. It is always reminding me that there is so much to create that is unique to the story of the bride and groom.
Fun fact about you: My parent’s used traditional Chinese wedding invitations for their wedding!
Three trends you are loving: Gold foil, hand drawn illustration and signage at receptions!
