Melvin and Katy find romance in ordinary places: the couple met at work, and got engaged in a parking lot. The day they made it official, under the guise of running errands, Melvin picked up Katy’s engagement ring while his soon-to-be fiance busied herself at a nearby salon. Unable to contain himself any longer, Melvin displayed a handmade sign that read “will you marry me” when Katy approached the parking lot. As she walked toward him, she wondered why he had parked so far away. Then Katy saw the words scrawled on the sign, and excitedly accepted the proposal. The couple held their engagement session with Bryan Jonathan Weddings in northeast Minneapolis, the Mill City Museum in the distance.
