Minnesota Wedding from Lydia Jane Photography

Heidi and Kyle’s wedding took place at Rubies & Rust in Belle Plaine, Minnesota on July 6, 2013. At 19 and 20, Heidi and Kyle wanted to make sure their wedding reflected their youthful love and arranged for an informal, happy, garden-party-esque affair. Rubies & Rust proved to be the perfect venue, as their permanent antique collection mixed with Heidi’s vintage decor came to life inside their beautiful barn. Lydia Jane Photography stated, “It’s rare to see a wedding with such a small budget come across in such a bold, vivid way.”

From the mix-matched chairs, to the hand drawn signs, to the hanging chandeliers and streamers, to the intricate head table backdrop, the scope of the decor was breathtaking. Heidi and Kyle insisted on crafting a day that they could relax and enjoy as much as their guests. As such, the reception wasn’t tied to a formal schedule. The guests could get up and serve themselves as they pleased, Heidi and Kyle could meander and greet them, and everyone was permitted to dance whenever they liked. As a small wedding of close-knit friends, this approach worked well and created a low-key evening that reflected Heidi and Kyle’s easy going relationship.
