Their proposal story?
Tim and Courtney were living together while Tim was stationed in Pensacola, FL while in flight school to be a Marine Aviator. After roughly 8 months of flight school, Tim decided that he didn’t want to pursue a career in the wing, and with this decision, the couple knew that Tim would soon be stationed elsewhere. With this, Tim & Courtney knew that everywhere Tim would be stationed next, Courtney would be by his side.
They knew with this move, that they didn’t want it to be the last, so they planned a very small, elopement (just their parents and a handful of close friends). However, even just two days before the elopement, they technically weren’t even engaged yet. When Courtney returned home late from work on that Friday, Tim instantly greeted her at the door and brought her into the kitchen, where he had their two favorite desserts waiting: Publix Key Lime Pie & Almond Cheesecake cones.
Tim had the ring waiting for Courtney sitting right on top of the almond cheesecake cone. Courtney, while being completely in shock, didn’t even realize that Tim had actually proposed, so she made him ask her again – both times, saying YES!
What they love most about each other?
Courtney loves how driven Tim is, and how much he cares for her well-being, happiness, and puppy Wrangler.
Tim loves how Courtney continues to challenge him every day by bringing him out of his comfort zone, and how she is accepting, and loving of every part of him.
The biggest challenge of planning their day?
According to Tim, their biggest challenge in planning their wedding day was how to limit the guest list. However, Courtney is actually a Master Certified Wedding Planner, and although she has helped many couples on their big days, it was very hard for her to fully trust in her vendors, and let them work their magic (aka let go) on the wedding day itself.
Favorite memory of the day?
Both Tim & Courtney’s favorite memory from their wedding day was their ceremony. Standing together at the altar, reading their own vows. And hearing the most perfect ceremony that Tim’s best friend had written from them. Courtney says that she will never forget the opening line “ Tim & Courtney, this ceremony is about to fly by.
So before we get too far into it, I am going to ask you two to pause for a moment with me and take in this feeling. I’m going to ask you to notice three things. These things are for you to remember, and to share with each other after our ceremony together. First, let start with noticing something about each other.
Next, I want you to look around and notice something. About the place that we are the people here with you. Last, I want you to think of one word that describes how you are feeling in this moment.”
Advice for future couples?

Any other cute notes about this amazing couple and their Nashville Military Wedding!
Courtney & Tim eloped in April of 2018, but the pictures seen here are from their ‘big fancy wedding’ in October of 2019. Courtney wanted nothing at the elopement to resemble an actual wedding. She wasn’t escorted down the aisle, she refused to wear white, and wouldn’t even carry a bouquet. All so that they could both have the real wedding experience on the ‘big fancy wedding’ day.
Courtney & Tim’s dog, Wrangler, got loose on the wedding day during pictures with the groom & his groomsmen and there are additional pictures of everyone chasing him around the venue’s property.
Tim swore against having a first look, in which Courtney never wanted one either. And even though the couple had already been legally married for a year and a half. At the time of the “big fancy celebration”, Courtney was so nervous on the wedding day. That she begged Tim for a first look to calm her nerves.
Tim’s father is Scottish and wore a traditional kilt to the wedding. The couple also has a bagpipe played during the prelude to honor their heritage.
