Brewery Loving Couple has a Brewery Inspired Wedding in New York

Getting married where they got engaged brings their love story full circle. A beautiful church ceremony where they said their vows in front of their favorite people. Then celebrated the night away where the bride has always dreamed of having her wedding. This is a stunning classic, laid back, and fun Brewery Wedding in New York!

Also, the cutest Father and Daughter first look I have ever seen! This is where she gave the funniest and best gift to her dad!

Lisa is the type of bride that everyone wants to photograph. From the moment I walked into the hair salon to the time I walked out of their reception, she was a dream. She is so down to earth and was over the moon to marry her love.

About the couple:

They met at the Genesee Brew House. Jerry needed a few nudges to ask for Lisa’s phone number and from there the rest is history! After a little over a year of dating,  Jerry proposed. Jerry knew the Boilermaker Road Race in Utica, NY was an important day of the year surrounded by fun and family and that it would be the perfect time to propose. Lisa’s dad was able to get rooftop access to the Saranac Brewery where they overlooked the entire crowd at the Post Race Party. Lisa had no idea and was more concerned about taking photos together but after about three tries, Jerry was able to get down on his knee and propose. Lisa was totally caught off guard and immediately said YES! Jerry planned an engagement party at Lisa’s house with both of our families.

From the bride:

Our whole wedding day was absolutely amazing. It is hard to pick just one favorite memory! The initial time seeing each other in the church will always be a special memory for both of us. But the best part? Our alone time shooting such amazing photos as husband and wife. It really allowed us special time together on our wedding day to just be together without any interruptions.

Planning went smoothly for the most part! We had fun planning the most perfect day! Tracking down those last-minute people to RSVP was a little frustrating!

How did they choose the venue?

From the bride: We only looked at a few venues but Turning Stone Resort and Casino were the locations Lisa always wanted to have her wedding. The grounds and staff were all amazing and made planning easy and the day runs seamlessly. It was a location that was able to bring both of our families together to enjoy the day celebrating our love for each other.

From their amazing photographer’s point of view!

All that the couple asked of me was to capture great photos at both the Brewery & their venue. They said they would give me as much time as I needed for that as we planned out their timeline. We explored the brewery together, and this mama (who was 8 months pregnant at the time) hiked up the 10 flights to get to the top of the brewery to get the Utica Club sign in the background. The bride’s mother also had a special request – her and her husband had a little bit of a surprise for them – their name in lights over the Stanley Theater in town with congrats. So the MOB and I planned a way to get her to see it without her actually knowing.

All-time favorite wedding day moment?

Favorite moments of this wedding definitely are from the Saranac Brewery. I loved touring the facility in a “behind the scenes” manner and from seeing the city from their rooftop. I also really loved working with the vendor team they had. Having the right vendors are definitely something to make the day go smoothly.
