Outdoor Mountain Klamath Falls Wedding
Oregon Country Wedding in Klamath Falls
A beautiful sunny Klamath Falls Wedding full of smiles! They said their vows were surrounded by the mountains of Oregon!
From the photographer:
They were planning more quickly than usual due to covid and how uncertain that makes everything. We met the day of the wedding and I was amazed at how it was all put together. So many lovely details in this backyard, bo-ho-inspired wedding day. The pampas grass, thoughtful table decor, and the fur coats for the ladies made this all fit together. This wedding day might have been the most emotional wedding day I have ever been a part of. When Lauryn walked down the aisle, Ben was completely overwhelmed with emotion and it was all I could do to hold it together and keep shooting. The love these two have for each other, their families, and that in turn, their families had for them was an inspiration and quite honestly what’s needed right now in the world.
Tell us about your Klamath Falls wedding!
My husband, Ben, and Is wedding was at his grandparent’s house in Klamath Falls, OR. We choose to have it there since the wedding was during COVID and make it easier on both his grandparents and his mom. As his mom was sick, we decided to plan the wedding in 3 months quickly. It turned out beautiful since his grandparent’s backyard sits on Klamath Lake. We went for a bohemian style with natural pinks, creams, and greens. Including some catholic traditions as it’s practiced by many in both our families. We said or Ayers and had a couple of readings noted from the Bible. It was a nice touch even though neither Ben nor I practice Catholicism.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?
As we didn’t want to spend a ton of money on the wedding, we tried to save where we could. Also, since the wedding was outside, I liked the focus on the natural beauty of the backyard. I asked The florist to make a flower arch for the alter, which was the only decoration at the ceremony. The centerpieces at the tables were on the smaller side as well. As far as everything else, we either rented from Motif Rentals (votives and vases) or made ourselves (donut board, tequila shots for the seating chart)
What were the florals like at your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces, or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an essential part in the overall style of your wedding?
I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on flowers, especially since the wedding was outside. Megan, my florist from Freckled Fleurs, made a beautiful flower arch for the ceremony backdrop. Megan also made a bouquet for myself, small bouquets for my bridesmaids and mother, a corsage for my mother-in-law and Ben’s grandma, boutonniere’s for the men, and finally, small centerpieces for tables. It was hard for me to spend a lot of money on the flowers as I knew they wouldn’t live past the wedding day. However, I was absolutely in love with how they all turned out! They brought the wedding together. My florist was so easy to work with and made my vision a reality!
Did you personalize the day in any way? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We had the wedding catered by a family favorite, Yummies. A local catering company that the Bens family has used in the past. One of my favorites was our bartender, Wyatt from PourHorse Cantina & Libations. Having a good open bar was important to Ben, and I. Wyatt had a mobile bar where he served beer, wine, and two signature cocktails! We decided to have a gin and whiskey cocktail to help during the cocktail hour. In addition to those drinks, we had a tequila shot waiting for everyone at the seating chart.
Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
Leading up to the wedding, I imagined wearing a long sleeve lace dress with a low front and back, and that’s exactly what I found! Both Ben and I wanted to change into something different for the reception as well. Ben found a velvet forest green smokers jacket, and I ended up changing into a long sleeve, thigh-length sequence dress!
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
Ben and I know each other since high school. We were in the same circle of friends. We ended up dating for about a month the summer after our freshman year of college, but it wasn’t the right timing. Years later, we both ended up going to our mutual friend’s wedding, where we both knew the other would be there. We reconnected that night and ended up Talking/FaceTiming for almost a year. I was living in Seattle, and Ben was living in Sacramento, CA. When I came home for my mom’s birthday, we agreed to go to a Giants game in SF and were inseparable ever since. I knew I was going to marry him that day. The proposal was simple as it was during COVID. Ben and I made sushi at home and decided to eat out on the balcony. As I was setting up the table, Ben told me he had a surprise and ended up proposing this last May. We thought we would get married in 2021 but due to a family member’s health issues, come July 4th, we decided to have the wedding sooner than later.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
Ben is a very tearful/emotional person, and I could not wait to see his reaction when I walked down the aisle. Because of this, we chose not to a first look. Ben’s reaction when I walked down the aisle was my favorite part of the whole day! So glad everyone else got to experience it as well 🙂
