Backcountry Kailua-Kona Hawaii Forest Elopement
This romantic Hawaiian Elopement set among Acienct Koa Trees fills our souls with adventure and romance. The truly intimate nature of this elopement is sure to speak to the adventurous souls out there. Especially those who adore Hawaii and all it has to offer.
Even though most Hawaii is known for its tropical beaches! We LOVE that they showcased another amazing beautiful aspect of Hawaii!
From the couple:
We both met in Hawaii in our workplace. From the first day we met each other at work there was an instant connection but it wasn’t actualized until about 2.5 years later. We pretty much casually proposed to each other. Just looked at each other one day and we were like: “Do you wanna just get married ASAP?” We knew deep down we are perfect for each other and would make an amazing romantic kick-ass team for the rest of our lives.
About their elopement:
Our elopement day was really special. We went to this beautiful part of Hawaii where the forest of ancient Koa trees is just magnificent. The whole day really is the memory. The whole experience wrapped into a bundle of forest scenes and love is imprinted into our brains. Two things that do stick out are how amazing the weather was and also how Ben was actually very sick with the flu that day. During times when we were taking pictures and authentically displaying our union it was like a different energized part of him took over for a little bit and the flu was able to subside.
The planning of our Hawaiian Elopement wasn’t really frustrating. For the big day, it was the weather. The location we had our elopement is usually very rainy and not great weather but we knew we wanted to be in that incredible ancient forest. We went for it anyway and the weather turned out great! Ryan and Corinne are great at creating a mellow but intentional space for an elopement experience.
The wish list for us again was the weather. We just really hoped that it would be beautiful out and it was! Another small wish was we wanted to have some incredible pictures by some really big ancient Koa trees. We hiked long enough to find just the spot we wanted a bunch of pictures with the trees.
How did they choose their elopement location:
A Koa forest was really special for us. We love the raw ancient forest energy here and we just marvel at the Koa trees every time we are here. Also to get to this location is definitely a trek. The 4 wheels drive rough road and then hiking afterward makes this place extra special because it is hard to get to. The intimate privacy that is created because of this is very special and romantic.
