Snowy Mt Rainier Anniversary Session in Washington

Roxanne and Javier celebrated their one-year anniversary in their wedding attire in the mountains! The day before their session the mountains received a blanket of snow. They still went out as far as they could and found some epic locations and views to capture such a memorable day! This snowy Mt Rainier Anniversary Session in Washington fulfills all the celebration needs in the mountains! Loving the change into a red dress to make them POP from the snowy background!

How did they meet from the couple:

We met 10 years ago in high school! He was one of the first friends that I met. He claims that he knew there was something special right away (love at first sight for him) but for me, he was my BFFL. I labeled him that and kept him in the friend zone for a while. I dated a few other guys but always kept him in the background as my best friend until I FINALLY opened my eyes. 6, almost 7 years later, I broke him out of the friend zone and haven’t looked back.

He has always been my best friend but now, he is my husband too. I am blessed that he didn’t give up on me after all of those years of chasing me and not giving up or losing hope. He’s an amazing man and I can’t imagine life without him. Ladies, break your bestie out of the friend zone!!!

Their fun proposal story:

In May 2019, I had just graduated with my Master’s degree. In June, my parents had set up a little lunch and had me under the impression that it was just a small family get together to celebrate my accomplishment. Little did I know that when I walked into their kitchen, my whole family was there AND my boyfriend’s entire family was there. It was a surprise party planned for me! As soon as everyone shouted surprise, my dad handed me a rolled-up letter tied with a red ribbon.

I was already shaking from the surprise and now confused with this letter! I did not know what to think. Read it…it was from my boyfriend, and it was filled with the sweetest words expressing his love for me. As soon as I was done reading, I looked at him (naturally still puzzled) and he got down on his knee: “Roxanne Elizabeth Adams, will you marry me?”. My dad was the only one who knew it was planned and coming!

A graduation party turned engagement party…it was the best day! By that September, we were married – we couldn’t wait! Best few months of our lives!

What do they love most about each other?

Hers: What I love most about him is tough to answer because there are so many things…I know, such a cliche answer but there are just too many. I think one big thing is that he is a man of integrity and always challenges me to work harder and dream bigger.

His: This is a difficult question because what’s not to love about her. I made her mine because I love everything about her. I wouldn’t have asked her to marry me if I had seen flaws that I didn’t like but all I see is the good in her and that is the god honest truth!

Favorite memories?

Hers: One of my favorite memories from this day is, first of all, having a blast out in the snow with my husband and an amazing photographer. She was amazing and we had so much fun with her. Also, people who saw us would say “congratulations” or “you two look amazing” and even though we weren’t just getting married, it was fun because it reminded me so much of our day all over again.

His: Getting my freezing wife in the car to warm her up! My gorgeous bride is a trooper!

Advice for future couples:

Hers: One of the biggest pieces of advice I can offer is that communication itself is not always the key…fully listening, comprehending, and being receptive to what the other is saying is the key. Don’t interrupt when they are talking, be patient, and don’t be judgmental when they are speaking their feelings to you.

His: Keep your business to yourself. It is your relationship and everyone has their own two cents but that can fill your head with doubt, regret, fear, anger, disgust, loneliness, etc. People tend to pull others down more often than not. Pull them up it’s easier. Speak to your spouse and always be open and honest.

Random fact about this amazing couple:

We are huge country lovers. We live by Tim McGraw and Lee Brice: “Don’t take for granted the love this life gives you. When you get where you’re going don’t forget turn back around and help the next one in line…always stay humble and kind.” -TM

“Be a best friend, tell the truth, overuse I love you, go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense, never let your prayin’ knees get lazy, and love like crazy.” -LB
