Snowy Mountain Lodge Wedding in France
An intimate snowy mountain lodge wedding in France is beautifully photographed! These amazing couples planned a stunning wedding day filled with coziness and candlelight! You can tell the couple embraced their family time and the joy of the day fully! Cheering with some drinks a few times to celebrate! The photos beautifully capture how intimate this day was!
I simply cannot get enough of how much the snow creates magic with the lodge and mountains in the background! The couple fully embracing the beauty of the snow! Everyone was welcomed inside with a fur and candlelight reception.
From the Photographer:
Paule and Vincent are in love, that’s for sure. They might be the cutest couple I have ever met to date, and their love for each other is so strong, I’m sure they can move mountains. When they got married in beautiful La Clusaz (a very famous ski resort on the Alps slopes in France) I was so honored they contacted me to witness and photograph their day!
How they met:
We met 11 years ago, we were 16 and 17 in high school with one of our mutual best friends. Vincent always told me that that day he felt something special. And on my side, there was something that calmed me down but I didn’t really dare to go. I was a year older and in high school, stupidly enough, it matters so it took me a month to say “come on, let’s try.” Then, the “come on, let’s try it” quickly became a true love story that we both fell in love with.
In November 2018, almost 10 years of relationship and it was at the top of a summit of 5,448 meters in Nepal that Vincent proposed to me. I like to say he wore my toiletry bag and sleeping bag so I had to say yes but in reality even if I wore everything I would obviously have said yes to spend the rest of our lives together!
Inspirations for the day:
We hesitated between Brittany and the mountains where Vincent’s family has a second home. Choosing the mountains, as we wanted to provide an experience for our guests. We found a winter wedding that suited that well.
After looking at a lot of wedding blogs and Pinterest to find ideas that have a mountain theme. I also didn’t want us to fall into the kitsch of mountains and Christmas.
We were immediately seduced by the Chalet des Praz place because its entire interior was made of wood. The place was almost self-sufficient! It also allowed us to have 110 guests, a capacity that is not easy to find in the mountains.
For the decoration of the tables:
We chose something quite natural with burlap table runners, mini pine cones to place the guests, branches of fir trees, jars decorated with lace, raffia, and wooden logs in the table’s center.
Preparing a wedding requires using its practical sense: concretely imagine how to do what you find pretty on Pinterest (necessary material, plan, etc.). And the more you do it upfront, the easier it gets in my opinion (which we haven’t really done and would have surely helped us in the last month).
Do not hesitate to take a look at what is going on in the right place, we can find some decorative elements!
What they liked most during the day:
We loved living the wedding on Friday evening with the civilian, it launched us in the emotion that was going to carry us throughout this weekend. The photoshoot in the mountains was a magical moment where we both found ourselves in this beautiful nature.
