Sunny Backyard Wedding in Georgia by Love Samantha Jean

Peach and green wedding bouquet

Beautiful fall backyard wedding at the family property in Chatsworth Georiga

Your intimate elopement in the backyard of your family home doesn’t get much sweeter! They created a stunning arbor to say their vows under. Surrounded by greenery and vintage rugs so her heels wouldn’t sink. The peach color palette is a stunning combo with his linen suit! This beautiful sunny backyard wedding has me feeling all the warmth!

The backyard wedding day as told by their photographer:

Emily and Scott got married on a beautiful September evening in Chatsworth, Georgia. The couple tied the knot on Emily’s parent’s property and held their reception at the dreamy Venue 208. The gorgeous early fall Georgia weather provided the perfect setting for this unforgettable day.

Emily, along with her two best friends and mom, got ready on sight at Venue 208. The girls popped champagne to the sound of happy, pre-wedding chatter before Emily slipped into her stunning full lace gown and nude heels. Her dad couldn’t quite hold it together as he saw his little girl turned beautiful bride descending the staircase in an emotional father/daughter’s first look. The couple chose not to have a wedding planner so both families pitched in to make the venue reception ready. They didn’t seem to mind turning the already beautiful venue into the location of Emily and Scott’s dreams!

The stunning greenery and bright pops of color turned the property into an early fall oasis as it got closer to ceremony time.

While their closest friends and family watched with happy tears and sweet smiles, Emily slipped her arm through her dad’s and headed down the stone path aisle to her groom amongst the soft sound of her brother playing guitar. Scott hadn’t seen her in her wedding dress yet and the look in his eyes as she meets him under her dad’s handmade gazebo says it all. The two exchanged their vows lovingly as their guests gazed on, with two guests standing out from the rest. Emily’s grandparents have been married for 60 years and, after a recent health scare, were an extra special blessing to have in attendance.

Once they said ‘I do’, they stole away for some picturesque moments. Just a mile from Emily’s childhood home was a wide-open field full of cows. The blue ridge mountains outline the horizon and made for a whimsical backdrop for Emily and Scott’s couple pictures. They exchanged sweet smiles and lingering husband and wife kisses for the first time amongst the tall, swaying grass and rolling hills. The two also chose to have their first dance privately in the field- twirling and swaying to the gentle autumn breeze. One of the best parts of intimate weddings is how much time the new couple gets to spend alone to savor their special firsts and make the memories that are most important to them!

Because the couple chose to have a small wedding by Georgian standards, they were able to use their budget for special extras, including the dreamy florals that provided soft bursts of color all throughout the day. Her dad was also able to cook a Lowcountry boil for each guest, a family tradition for every celebratory event.

Emily’s Aunt was in charge of decorating the getaway car.

Along with the traditional cans tied to the back, she decided to order a banner that said congratulations! Unfortunately, she made a mistake and they ended up with a ‘Thank You’ sign instead. The bride and groom both thought the mixup was hilarious and drove away from their special, intimate celebration with nothing but smiles!

Family means everything to Emily, so having so many special touches from hers made the day perfect in her eyes. For an intimate Georgia wedding, finding what matters most to you and making it a focal point of your day is one of the best ways to have a celebration you’ll never forget.
