notes from the photographer:
Where to begin….this couple, and let’s face it, the entire family and bridal party, were absolutely amazing. Emmalea and Chris are so much fun, so laid back, and so in love it’s almost too mushy to be around. I was lucky enough to go to high school with both of them, and I’ve known them separately and I’ve known them together, and together they are an amazing thing. The day went flawlessly. From the gorgeous details, to the beautiful location, to the easy-going couple themselves, they made my job that much easier. They tied the knot at the amazing Schenk Mansion in Vevay, IN, a place that is every vintage-loving photographer’s dream. It is notoriously known for being haunted, and the night before the wedding, the groomsmen took a picture of themselves that captured a “white shadowy figure” in the picture! The day of the wedding, they kept trying to recreate the spooky photo from the night before by taking pictures of each other and laughing all along the way. The bride and groom opted for a first-look to take advantage of the beautiful autumn light on the mansion’s wrap-around porch, and it was a breathtaking moment. I’ve never seen a groom smile as much at the sight of his gorgeous bride as Chris did. Surrounded by their family and friends, gorgeous orange and red-leaved trees, and in the front yard of the amazing haunted mansion, they said their “I do’s”. Later they danced the night away in a tent under the stars, ending the night by lighting lanterns to set off into the sky.
