Blue and White Wedding at Wavering Place in South Carolina
Cody and Ciera met in college they lived in coed dorms and Cody walked up to Ciera, shook her hand, and said: “Hi, I’m Cody Gray” and they have been attached to the hip ever since.
He would write her notes every single morning before class and slide them under her dorm room door so she would wake up to them every morning! How sweet is that!?
Their wedding day was filled with beautiful blue and white details everywhere! The bouquets were simple florals of white and greenery! They got married under a canvas of trees, surrounded by their favorite people.
Their proposal story is just as adorable!
Cody is a professional fisherman and he fishes tournaments, so every year Columbus hosts the Columbus fishing expo. Cody was doing a “seminar” in the middle of the whole expo and he flings his fishing lure to land onto Ciera’s lap and a ring was tied around it. How adorable!
What was their favorite wedding day memory?
Our favorite memory of our day was when our groomsmen decided to take off the undershirts of their tuxes. And started a dance circle in the middle of the dancefloor! But also being able to eat dinner on the back porch together for a quick 15 minutes and just be like holy crap we just got MARRIED!!
What was their biggest frustration planning their wedding day?
The biggest frustration for us was being in an entirely different state trying to make sure every detail would be how we imagined it to be
Ciera had a custom denim jacket made for the big day! This is an amazing custom souvenir you can rock for years to come! A stylish way to celebrate your wedding day every single day!
Tell us all about your wedding dress!
Funny now looking back, but long story short, I got my dress from Wendy’s Bridal in Columbus. I started bawling as soon as I showed my mom and knew it was the one. Well when I went to get it altered, the seamstress botched it. She cut the fabric and made the dress 6 inches too small in the back and it didn’t fit.
There was no way to let it back out, so my friend’s grandma had to cut the entire back detailing off of my dress. It wasn’t originally supposed to be backless! When I went to put it on the day of the wedding, the stitching started to unravel!!!
My grandma had to sew me into my wedding dress, 30 minutes before I walked down the aisle!
Wow! Grandma to the rescue!!!
