words from the beautiful bride, heather.
We wanted an outdoor wedding, nothing formal or traditional, just a celebration of us, our personalities and our love of fall in the north woods. I imagined a casual, home-made and vintage “up-north” wedding with all of our friends and family coming together for a weekend getaway with nothing else to do but CELEBRATE, and what we came up with was truly picture perfect. We had 150 guests join us for our weekend celebration including our dog Sadie, who also celebrated her 3rd birthday that weekend!
We both love the outdoors and mother nature did not disappoint us, we had 80 degree weather on October 9th, in Northern Wisconsin…and the fall colors were perfectly vibrant! To keep the day casual we had a pig roast for dinner, complete with all the fixin’s and a BBQ seasoning for our quests as a small thank you for traveling to spend the weekend with us. I have always been drawn to the small details at a wedding, and I had to have every detail covered at my own! My best friend and man of honor, a graphic designer, created signs with the same theme of the invitations to place throughout the reception labeling such necessities, like the photo booth and “dancing shoes” for the dance floor. We also wanted to remember our loved ones that could not be with us on this special day so we put pictures of those on jars and illuminated them with candles so they could be with us in spirit. I feel so blessed to have many amazing people helping to make this day a dream come true.
